Traut's Reagent is used for the preparation of disulfide bridges or for the generation of sulphhydryl groups for conjugation. This is a small, water-soluble compound that reacts with primary amines under mild conditions (pH 7 to 10, 25 °C) for thiolation (sulphhydryl addition).
