Vivapore® solvent absorption concentrators are disposable ultrafiltration units for the concentration of macromolecules from aqueous samples.

Solvent absorption is an economic and user-friendly technique for sample concentration in research and clinical laboratories, since there is no need for additional equipment such as centrifuges or pressure regulators. Simply fill the unit and wait until the desired concentration level is reached.

Vivapore® is also useful for very sensitive target molecules, which may be prone to denaturation under the higher forces used in centrifugal ultrafiltration. Furthermore, the compact units can easily be placed into a refrigerator or cold room for temperature-sensitive samples, while printed graduations and concentration factors allow ultrafiltration progress to be easily monitored.

Vivapore® 10 can be used with an expansion reservoir to increase the sample capacity from 10 to 20 ml. Alternatively, the expansion reservoir may be used to desalt samples up to 2 ml in volume. When filled with an appropriate exchange buffer, this will replace the original solvent at the same rate as ultrafiltration.
