Battery Materials Production

Current Li-ion batteries consist of largely four main components: cathode, anode, electrolyte, and separator.

• The cathode is a thin aluminum foil coated with a compound made up of active agent, solvent, super conductive additive and binder. Cathode active materials are typically composed of lithium and metal.
• The anode is typically a thin copper foil coated with a compound made up of active agent, solvent, super conductive additive and binder. Anode active material is graphite (synthetically-produced or mined).

  The electrolyte is composed of salts, solvents and additives.

• Typical separators are currently made of synthetic resin such as polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP)
