Catalog Number: (786-005)
Supplier: G-Biosciences
Description: A highly sensitive colorimetric protein assay that overcomes interference of common laboratory agents present in protein solutions and shows minimal protein-to-protein variation. The assay is unaffected by the presence of common laboratory agents such as reducing agents, chelating agents, detergents, amines, sugars, chaotropes, salts, drugs, antibiotics, cobalt, and others.
UOM: 1 * 1 KIT

Catalog Number: (BC92)
Supplier: G-Biosciences
Description: This sulpho-SHPP (water-soluble Bolton-Hunter Reagent) is designed to aid the labelling of proteins with radioactive iodine. Radioactive iodine (¹²⁵I) is routinely used by researchers to label proteins. The iodination of proteins can be performed enzymatically or chemically.
UOM: 1 * 100 mg

Supplier: G-Biosciences
Description: HOOK™ Biotin-PEG₂-Amine, and its long chain form, HOOK™ Biotin-PEG₃-Amine, are carboxyl reactive biotinylation reagents. These agents contain terminal amines and react with carboxyl groups found at the carboxyl termini, aspartate, and glutamate side chains. The reaction is mediated by a water-soluble carbodiimide (EDC). The carbodiimide activates the carboxyl group and reacts with the amines (-NH₂) on the biotinylation agent to form an amide bond. This reaction is rapid and takes just a few minutes to complete. Under these conditions, hydrazide-derivatives of biotin reagents may also react with the carboxyls.

Catalog Number: (BC98)
Supplier: G-Biosciences
Description: 2-Mercaptoethanol
UOM: 1 * 100 mL

Catalog Number: (BC94)
Supplier: G-Biosciences
Description: G-Biosciences' HPG (p-hydroxyphenylglyoxal) specifically reacts with arginine residues under mild conditions (pH 7 to 9, 25°C) to yield spectrophotometrically measurable signal for amino acid detection.
UOM: 1 * 100 mg

Catalog Number: (BG-20)
Supplier: G-Biosciences
Description: Photoreactive agents, on exposure to ultraviolet light, become active and bind non specifically with neighbouring molecules. These reagents are suitable for labelling molecules that do not contain easily reactable functional groups. Photoreactive reagent HOOK™ Psoralen-PEO-Biotin reacts with and labels nucleic acids and protein molecules. When reacted with nucleic acids, it crosslinks with pyrimidine bases. Crosslinking does not interfere with hybridisation applications.

Description: The use of peptides for the generation of antibodies against specific peptides has become an essential tool in proteomic research. A crucial step in using peptides as antigens is their coupling to carrier proteins. Peptides are designed to be good epitopes by themselves; however they fail to elicit a strong antibody response. The reason for this is that the epitopes are able to bind to the B-cells, but are too small to contain additional motifs required to associate with class II molecules and T-cell receptors. The carrier proteins, once coupled to the peptides, provide these additional motifs and generate a strong antibody response. All three carrier proteins are also offered as activated carrier proteins, named as ActiveHOOK™.

Supplier: G-Biosciences
Description: Tryptone is an assortment of peptides generated by the tryptic digestion of casein. It is commonly used in microbiology to produce Lysogeny broth for the growth of E. coli and other microorganisms, as it provides a source of amino acids.
Supplier: G-Biosciences
Description: D-(+)-Sucrose

Catalog Number: (BE-203)
Supplier: G-Biosciences
Description: Antibiotics play a crucial role in the manipulation, screening and killing of bacteria in a range of biotechnology processes. This kit specifically teaches the basic principles of antibiotics, bacterial resistance and susceptibility. Students learn and understand the use of antibiotic resistance in screening for infectious diseases. Utilising a bacterial strain, students learn the effects of different antibiotics and visualise bacterial sensitivity and resistance to the supplied antibiotics. This method involves the use of filter paper discs impregnated with a specified concentration of antibiotics on the surface of an agar plate containing microbial cells. This kit will enable students to analyse the inhibitory effects of different antibiotics on selected bacterial cells and then determine which antibiotic is the most suitable to treat a bacterial infection.

Catalog Number: (BE-507)
Supplier: G-Biosciences
Description: A hands on lab activity to study immunoaffinity chromatography and use a specific antibody to purify antigenic proteins from complex samples. This technique involves performing a chromatography procedure using antigen or antibody immobilised on a chromatographic resin. The solution containing antigen or antibody is passed through the column, which specifically and efficiently captures antibodies (antigen). The captured molecules are eluted from the column as a pure fraction. In this lab activity, students perform immunoaffinity chromatography and learn how this method is utilised in research laboratories.
